The Budapest Design Material Library opened in collaboration between the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest in October 2021. It is the fifth largest material library in Europe after Spain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden, and the first member of the Material Connexion franchise in the region.

The Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency
The Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency was created as a subsidiary of the Hungarian Touristic Agency in 2018 with two major focuses, the fashion industry and the design industry, for the purpose of increasing the international visibility and recognition of the Hungarian fashion and design industry, and thereby boosting the Hungary’s image. Its most important tasks are to expand export, strengthen and improve Hungary’s manufacturing capacity, and build traditional creative and professional knowledge. As an integrative organisation, its main focus is to enable effective professional coordination between Hungarian and international actors in the fashion and design industry, which is essential for long-term success.
